Accessibility Statement
Responsible Office
The Web Development team of Munich Tourism, Events, and Hospitality within the Department of Labor and Economic Development of the City of Munich is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Bavarian Digital Ordinance (BayDiV).
Scope
The following accessibility statement documents the current status of implementation for this website in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Compliance Status
This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the BayDiV in conjunction with the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).
A website is considered BITV-compliant if it meets all requirements of BITV 2.0. A website is considered WCAG-compliant if it meets all success criteria at Level AA of the WCAG 2.1 standard.
Evaluation Method
The evaluation was conducted internally during development through self-assessment using standard browser functions and analysis tools. A sample of six individual pages with various content types and functionalities was selected for review.
Last Review Date: June 24, 2025
The identified non-compliances are listed below.
Non-accessible Content
Non-compliances:
The following issues are being continuously improved as part of ongoing development and are expected to be resolved by end of July 2026:
- Some ARIA role attributes are not yet correct.
- In some forms, the corresponding autocomplete attributes for custom fields are missing (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.5).
- In combination with dynamically changing content, the focus outline does not always provide sufficient contrast (WCAG Success Criterion 1.4.11).
- External links are not always clearly marked, and in some cases, alternative text for screen readers is missing (WCAG Success Criterion 2.4.2).
- Labels for control elements are in some cases not yet translated or are missing (WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1).
- In some instances, alternative texts for graphics are missing (WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1).
- In the footer, several links are grouped and not presented as navigation (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1).
- In text content, headings are occasionally not used in the correct order, or lists are not properly applied (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1).
- The HTML code does not validate without errors (WCAG Success Criterion 4.1.1).
- The shopping cart process currently does not fully meet the requirements for accessible web content. Automated tests indicate potential for improvement, particularly regarding structure and contrast.
Reasons
Munich Tourism is continuously working to improve its website. Due to the volume of material and the complexity of the site, not all content and services have yet been made digitally accessible.
