The main motif of this year’s pub owners’ mug is the Münchner Kindl. It is holding a dachshund in one hand and a Maßkrug in the other. The foam bubbles feature symbols representing the 14 major beer tents: a hop cone with a crown, for example, for the Hofbräuhaus; a crossbow; or a white ram. This year’s mug was designed by Matthias Wallig, an artist from Vienna.

In their award-winning motif, Amiera Harithas and Dinah-Charles Francis pay tribute to those who make the festival possible in the first place with their hard work: Waiters, showmen and helpers.
